Public Transport Directions
Option 1 - Ballybrit bus
Catch the 3 - Ballybrit bus, which leaves from Eyre Square and travels via Bohermore, Tuam and Monivea Rds (see City Bus details for a full route listing)
Either get off at first stop for Oldenway Industrial Estate (see entry below), turn right and walk down Castlepark:
- about 5 minutes to St Brigid's church and Ballybane Enterprise & Resource Centre,
- another 2-3 minutes walk to library and day-hosptial, and
- another 2-3 minutes walk to the John Paul Centre.
Stay on the bus while it does out to the terminus at the Clayton Hotel: on the return trip, it goes along Castlepark: Get off at the stop you want (there are stops outside each of the places).
Option 2 - Ballybane bus and a short walk:
Catch the 5e - Ballybane bus (leaves from Eyre Square, travels via Bohermore, Moneenageshia, Dublin Rd). Get off when the bus reaches the terminus in Ballybane Road (ask the driver to tell you when this is). Continue walking down Ballybane Rd in the same direction that the bus was going. Turn left into Castlepark. From here, it is:
- 2-3 minutes walk to the John Paul Centre,
- another 2-3 minutes walk to library and day-hosptial, and
- another 2-3 minutes to St Brigid's church and Ballybane Enterprise/Resource Centre.
Option 3 - walk from GMIT
Catch the 4e - Merlin Park or 9 - Parkmore bus to GMIT - Dublin Rd campus. (see here for GMIT directions). Go to the roundabout, and turn into Ballybane Rd (which goes along the back of GMIT). Glasan Student village is the first turn on the right. Castlepark is the second on the right - directions from here are the same as in Option 2 above.
