Public Transport
Note: These places are approx 10 minutes walk from Eyre Square.
Catch the 411 - Knocknacarra bus from Eyre Square
After the bus goes over the river, it turns RIGHT, and goes along a short street beside the canal. Get off at the next stop, on Henry Street, and walk back to the intersection at the canal. Then turn left and walk along Dominic Street.
Galway Arts Centre and Arus na Gael are half-way up Dominic St, on the left hand side.
At the end of Dominic St, turn LEFT.
Galway Garda Station is 1 minute walk down the road, Croi na Gallimhe is another mintues walk on the right hand side, and The Forge is in New Rd which is the 2nd on the left (not counting the car-park).
For other locations, cross the road and take the first turn on the right (which is a bridge over yet another canal). This road is Nuns Island: the entrance to the Spirit Centre is on the left hand side immediately after the canal bridge.
The Galway People's Resource Centre (Canavan House), Nuns' Island Theatre and St Joseph's College ("The Bish") are a few minutes walk along the road, also on the left hand side.
The Poor Clares' Convent is at the end of the road.
