City to Ballybrit Racecourse

Bus Éireann are running shuttle buses from Eyre Square, leaving from outside the Skeffington Arms Hotel (map).
  • Mon, Tues and Fri from 3pm
  • Wed, Thus, Sat and Sun from 11am
Fares:  Adult single €5, return: €9.   Child single €3, return €5


Galway city services

Bus Éireann Route 9 city buses serve the back entrance to the racecourse - number (5) on the Parkmore area map.

However they will turn around at the Lynch Roundabout between
  • 4pm - 6pm on Monday, Tuesday and Friday
  • 12:30pm - 4pm on Wednesday
  • 11:30am - 3:30pm on Thursday

The last bus-stop serviced during these times is at the top of Doughiska Rd - number (1) on the Briarhill area map.

People working in Parkmore Industrial Estate, Galway Technology Park, Racecourse Business Park and Briarhill Business park (or travelling to the racecourse using the regular bus) will need to walk for approx 15-20 minutes from this stop.   There is an underpass beside the Clayton Hotel, instead of crossing the dual-carriageway.


Regional services

Claregalway Hotel is sponsoring Paul Nash Travel to provide a free night-rider service between from Galway city and Corofin, Annaghdown, Headford, Oranmore, Abbeyknockmoy (and villages along the way).   Starting on Sat 24 July.   Bookings and details phone (091) 738-300.


Burkes Buses have cancelled several regular early-morning and evening services.   See their website for details.
 
Bus Éireann have advertised these service changes for Wed 28th and Thurs 29th:
  • 2:30pm Galway to Athenry - cancelled
  • 4:15pm Athenry to Galway - cancelled
  • 4:25pm Galway to Longford - delayed until 5:15pm
  • 5:45pm Galway to Castlerea - delayed until 6pm
